In the Bible Ephesians 5:8-10 says:

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord."  (NIV)

Why is this site called Child of Light?

It is my hope that every unequally yoked woman would know that she is a "child of light" (which in turn makes her a source of Jesus' Light to her husband and children)!  As such we have wonderful privileges and many responsibilities.  There is power and strength to be gotten from our Father in heaven free for the asking!  But we must "find out what pleases the Lord".  To do that we must read the Bible, God's love letter to each of us.  He wants us to have abundant life, and He wants our husbands and children to be saved, to be with Him and with us for eternity in heaven.

How did this site come into being?

As an unequally yoked wife I struggled for many years trying to make my marriage work the way I thought the Bible promised me that it should work.  When none of my efforts seemed to be making any difference and both my husband and I realized we were miserable, I belatedly turned to Scripture and also to some helpful studies.  The comfort and practical knowledge I gained from the Word and these other resources corrected many of my misconceptions about the kind of wife I was supposed to be by redirecting my focus from my poor beleagured husband and his spiritual condition back to me and mine!

What is the purpose of this site?

I hope that Child of Light will be a useful resource for unequally yoked women by directing them to Bible verses, studies, and other resources that I've found helpful.  It is not my intention to replace the Bible as the primary source of help, nor in any way to diminish the help that other studies have to offer.

God wants His children to have abundant life!
